City profile
Located between the Golden Ears Mountains and the Fraser River, Maple Ridge is a scenic, forested community with a natural beauty. For the outdoor enthusiasts, the close to 200 kilometres of accessible trails on the dykes and winding through the forest feature outstanding views of majestic mountains, gentle rolling farmland, refreshing streams, rivers and lakes — and wildlife such as eagles, hawks, herons and cranes.
The community itself is divided into several different and notable neighbourhoods and historical areas, each of which is identified by local stories, significant cultural groups or historical events that date back well over 100 years.
